Day 73 - Solvang, CA to Home

It's hard to believe that this is the last day of our epic 73 day cross county adventure...

True to form, we attempted to get going early, but did not leave the camp ground until 10AM. We attempted to head back into Solvang to pick up some raspberry and apricot jam, but after going almost nowhere for 30 minutes, we discovered that there were crews ahead performing road construction. Since it looked like the situation was not going to improve anytime soon, we decided to abandon the plan, turned around and and started to make our way towards home.

At lunchtime, we stopped at Chick-fil-a in Thousand Oaks before moving on to the last leg of the trip.

Oh how I have not missed you...the familiar Los Angeles traffic greeting us as we got close to the city.

We made it. After 11,292 miles, 73 days and countless memories to last a lifetime we pulled into the driveway at 2:53PM.

We made quick work of "moving out" as the RV company was coming by to pick up the vehicle after dinner. It felt strange and smelled weird walking into the house for the first time in more than 10 weeks.

We all got used to the nomadic life on the road and felt like we could do this again...

I can't wait for the next adventure!
