Up until today we had escaped the rain in Oregon. However, it was mostly of the light variety and let up near mid-morning. Again, we did not have a real plan for the day except to head south and possibly visit a couple more lighthouses.

Before leaving the campground, Kristen and Rachel used a tree stump as a good spot to pose.

We discussed with our neighbors the issue we were still having with our leveling jacks. He have us some advice to stop by the RV service locations just up the road. We took his advice and one of the guys came out to tell us that what were experiencing was not a huge issue and would not be something to be concerned with.

As we continued along the coast, we noticed that per capita this area must have the most RV parks in the US.
As we arrived at the Umpqua Lighthouse, we watched the ATV's speed up and down the Oregon Dunes Recreation area.

Out of all of the lighthouses that we have seen, this was the first one where we got an up close an personal view of the original first order fresnel lens. In fact, we actually were allowed to poke our heads inside of it.

After all of us took turns inside the light, we headed back down the spiral staircase.

Passing over the Coquille River.

Now at Cape Blanco, we parked the RV at the end of the gravel road as the last leg to the Cape Blanco Lighthouse was closing. Looking south, there was a cool rock right along the beach.

Even though it was closed to tours, we hiked down the road to the lighthouse to get a closer look at the outside.

The lighthouse grounds were covered with these beautiful flowers.

A couple of hours earlier, we made reservations at an RV park that was located right along the Chetco river. However, once we arrived, I was not a fan of the 18% one way incline entrance. We could look down over the campground and it looked like a lot of other drivers were OK with the incline. It did look like a nice area, but we decided not to stay there and headed down the road and found another campground just a couple of miles north of the California border.

Another night another fire.
