After leaving the campground in Kent, we drove to Puyallup, a city where we lived for a couple of years when I was very young and the location of my dad's childhood home. The original plan was to just drive by and take a picture, but we decided to stop. While my dad was outside taking a picture, the family (mom and son) who now owns the house was naturally curious and came outside to se what was going on. My dad then gave her the story that this was where he grew up and she proceeded to invite us all inside. Naturally, the house had changed some over the years, but the "bones" were still intact and visible. We talked for a while and my dad was able to tell her about certain nuances of how areas were built.

We wound up staying at the house a couple of hours and then jumped back in the RV and headed south. A few hours later, we crossed the Columbia River into Oregon and headed west toward Astoria, OR.

It was late in the day and were not sure there would be room for us at the KOA, but this campground was huge and it turned that they had plenty of space for us.

Like most KOA's, there was plenty to do here like renting bikes and playing on the infamous jumping pillow.

Here, Rachel and Tyler are playing with a random kid while under the supervision of the jumping pillow nazi. This girl took her job way too seriously and made it difficult to have fun, but the kids persevered.

Since it was getting late, we put together a quick salad and our trusted camp chicken packets for dinner and of course finished off with s'mores for dessert.
