We discovered that since the warm season is so short in these parts that Spring is also road construction season. Located somewhere in northern Iowa, we were first in line where the crews had closed the highway to one lane to perform repairs. After about 10 minutes of waiting here, a train of cars escorted by a crew vehicle starts to approach from the opposite direction. Once they passed by, the crew vehicle turns around and signals us to follow him back the other way.

Then, for several miles we were stuck following this harvester.

Located in perhaps one of the more remote, middle of nowhere places that we visited so far, the Laura Ingalls Wilder visitor center (in the old Savings Bank) in Burr Oak, IA. We arrived just before closing time at 4PM and looked at a lot of books and stories about the life of Laura Ingalls. However, i was most interested in the book about barn quilts. We had passed an number of these decorations in our trip here as well as other parts of the country and I wanted to figure out why they were used.

The actual museum/ home only conducts two tours a day and was already closed.

However, we found other activities to keep us busy.

On to Minnesota...

Now in Rochester, MN and after setting up the RV once again, we walked around for a bit to look at the farm next door.

Looks like Tyler can fits the silo between his hands.

While dinner was cooking it was time for laundry duty. When you have several laundry machines at your disposal it is fun to do. Well, kinda... In any event, Tyler had fun loading all of the machines with quarters.

After we finished the laundry it was after 10PM and we we were all tired and ready for bed. One problem...Our door had continued to give us problems and through no fault of our own had decided to lock us out of the RV. Luckily, I had left the driver's side window partially open, so we decided, since Tyler was the most willing, that we would shove him through the window. The plan worked just liked we drew it up except for the part where Tyler kicked Luke in the head on the way in.
