Since the girls had no interest riding roller coasters, it was just us boys for the day.

We discovered that our campsite was running a discount on tickets to Cedar Point Amusement Park along with a free refillable soft drink. Once we got our tickets, we immediately boarded the tram and took the three minute ride to the front gate.

We entered through the western gate and were greeted with the twisted metal of Raptor.

It had long been a dream of mine to go to Cedar Point and it was great to finally get there and experience it with the boys. I am a huge roller coaster fan and Tyler and I went to Magic Mountain last year, but Luke was new to the roller coaster world. To get Luke's feet wet, we started out with the Cedar Creek Mine Ride and then moved on to Blue Steak.

Raptor, the next ride, was a big leap from the previous two coasters. With it's various twists and turns and multiple loops, this one looked more ominous. Luke was nervous while in line, but he talked himself into getting on board.

Since Luke did not want to eat before riding Raptor, we were all starving afterward. As we sat and ate lunch, Luke was excited that he broke through his fear and was now looking forward to all of the big coasters and to riding the brand new Valravn.

After Valravn, we took a break from the coasters and wandered around the park. Eventually, we wound up at the bumper cars, check we took part in three times.

A giant presence in the park, but with my neck not quite ready for the rocket boost start, we elected to skip the Top Thrill Dragster.

We had a limited amount of time, so passed the Giant Wheel and it's neighbor Wicked Twister.

We attempted to get on board the Gatekeeper, but the locker fees to store our gear were much higher than anywhere else in the park, so we moved on to a nearby gift shop and bought Tyler a Valravn shirt.

We returned back to the other end of the park to ride Millennium Force. It was the tallest and fastest coaster I have ever ridden.

We then moved on to Rougarou, Magnum XL 200 and finished off the day with a ride aboard Maverick.

Meanwhile, mom and Rachel spent the afternoon at the Sandcastle Resort and Cedar Point Beach.

We all got back together about 6:30PM for dinner.
