It was chilly (39*F) and rainy day in Maine. We took this opportunity to have the RV service tech at the campsite take a look at the door. He was able to shim the handle with cardboard. We also picked up some bungie cords at Target so we wouldn't repeat yesterday's experience. We had a quiet day reading, playing board games, and watching Star Wars in the RV. Since the RV awning was nonfunctional, we had to use the pop up tent in order to cook dinner and at least attempt to stay dry.

It raind for the majority of the day

We ended the day by eating our dinner inside the warm confines of the RV.

The next morning, it was still chilly, but the rain had stopped. On our way out of town, we parked at Old Orchard Beach (OOB). We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves, but we hear that during the summer this placed is full with vacationeers, especially those that come down from Canada. For now, we soaked in the sights while doing some beach combing for shells.

One of many small hotels that are sprinkled through this beach town. Just around the corner, there was a house that doubled as a crab/lobster fishing business. I would have loved to get my hands on one of these critters, but since Kristen is deathly allergic, we decided to pass by.

Storm clouds passing and the tide rolling out for the morning.

A beach sight that you don't normally see...It's going to be difficult to get a tan wearing parkas and hats.

We enjoyed our drive through the mountains of New Hampshire. We passed a lookout point at the peak, but didn't stop as it was too foggy to see anything. While searching online we found a great campsite on a little river in Swanzey, NH. Just before arriving, we stopped to call the campsite to make sure that we were in the right area. It was a good thing we called, because the owner gave us specific directions to avoid the many covered bridges (pretty, but not RV friendly) that New Hampshire is known for. The directions worked out well and we set up the RV. While getting ready for dinner, the boy's noticed that a couple of the other empty campsites had brand new fire rings and just had to have it. So they picked up ours and rolled it 100 yards and then rolled back the new one.

Rachel kept herself busy with a new friend while I cooked dinner.

All of the kids wanted to get in the canoe (we could hardly blame them-it was gorgeous), but it was still cold and damp and we needed to get a fire for dinner going.

After dinner, we settled on air hockey and playing on the swings.
