After our crazy driving day getting to New York, we decided we all needed a break. We slept in, packed a picnic, and went fishing. The kids didn't catch anything, but we all enjoyed the time to relax. This serene park where we were camping is the exact opposite of the city we drove through the night before.

Mom was lounging nearby and reading a book.

While the kids ere fishing, a group of Hassidic Jews came through and managed to get tangled in Tyler's fishing line. After getting untangled, we moved on to riding skateboards.

This was the day before Rachel's birthday, so I made one of her favorite camping meals, Loaded Baked Potato Casserole in the Dutch Oven.

We let her open the few gifts we packed for the RoadTrip. She loved her Converse, necklace and lip gloss. We'll celebrate her birthday again with family in June.

While our dessert was baking, the kids found some dandelions...

In New Jersey, I had found Gluten Free-Dairy Free break and bake chocolate chip cookies. I thought they were really good. And certainly easy for making in our RV oven. Tomorrow we venture into NYC and we'll try to find some cake for Rachel!
