On the road again, this time headed to Nashville. We weren’t able to get to a grocery store before we arrived at Cumberland Park, so we ate granola bars and yogurt in the RV and then headed out to meet my friends. Cumberland Park is right next to Nissan Stadium (home of the Tennessee Titans) and has a great view of Downtown Nashville from across the river. All of the kids skipped rocks and ran around for a while and even threw a few rocks toward a massive barge passing by. Not too long after that, the General Jackson paddle boat floated by and a lot of the passengers waved at us. Even though it was short, it was a great stop.

Back on the road, I found a Publix in Murfreesboro, TN and picked up food to get us through the next few days. Inside, a little old lady was making some sample grilled sandwiches (Salsalito Turkey, Sharp Cheddar and Ranch on grilled sourdough) to promote the Sausalito Turkey and Mike and Luke LOVED it. They were not gluten free, so the rest of us could not eat them, but Mike and Luke must has had 10 small pieces each. We finished shopping and made a late lunch in the parking lot and then moved on taking a smaller road that paralleled the freeway before rejoining the 40. As we drove through Murfreesboro, we fell in love with this town. It was a small, rural town that was close to Nashville, but really affordable. Some of the homes were priced lower than our home, but were three times the size and came with 60-75 acres.

We still had not figured out where we were going to stay for the night, but our goal was to stay at a place close enough for us to see Ruby Falls. However, apparently Ruby Falls is a very attractive destination because there weren’t availabilities in Tennessee, but we were able to find a KOA across the state line in Trenton, Georgia. It wound up being the favorite camp site by far. It is way off the beaten path and nestled in a gorgeous wooded area. We had not even parked the RV for the night and the kids already were all over the jumping pillow.
